My Last Day at Amazon - and the Leap That Almost Broke Me
Five years ago, Lindsay Mustain went from Amazon's most visible employee to a new CEO with no business plan, two kids, and 14 seconds of experience running a business. Here is what happened next.
My Last Day at Amazon - and the Leap That Almost Broke Me
5 years ago today… it was my last day at Amazon.
I had some pretty incredible cred there.
I was known as the "most visible employee of Amazon" and had more engagement on LinkedIn than Amazon or Jeff.
I was given a job that had been created for me after my rise in influence as an ambassador to seek out and hire the most elusive talent on the planet 🌍
I was making the best money I had ever had.
And in a span of just 2 hours, I went from gainfully employed to giving notice.
All I had to go on was the faith that I wasn't going to sell my soul, and I knew people needed my support to change their careers.
I like to say I had about 14 seconds of experience in running a business.
I quit my steady and secure job without a business plan or investors.
And it felt so fucking good….
Until this exact day, 5 years ago.
This is the day I really realized that I had given up my security, paycheck, and my insurance in a home where there were 2 children and another stay at home parent.
I spent most of the day, crying and mourning about what I had done and how could I be so foolish.
But it was too late to go back.
I left work that day and cried the. entire. way. home.
The following Monday, I officially started as CEO of Talent Paradigm.
➡️ 5 years later with some incredible milestones and 1000s of client success stories achieved growing a 7 figure business 👉 I am taking off all of July to spend making memories with my children.
